NOUN. /ˈpaˌtwä/ DEFINITION: 1. Any language that is considered nonstandard. Can refer to pidgins, creoles, dialects, and other forms of native or local speech. 2. Many of the vernacular forms of English spoken in the Caribbean, especially in reference to Jamaican Creole. 3. The language used at the intersection of art and social justice in New Orleans.

Submit Your Film

We're not quite ready for film submissions yet, but we're already getting excited to hear from you. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: PFF’s format consists of feature and short films. Entries may be in documentary, narrative, animation or experimental form, and can be submitted by professional or amateur filmmakers. ENTRY DETAILS: Pre-screening copies must be submitted on DVD. Each entry must be labeled with title, running time, and contact information. Each entry must be accompanied by a completed entry form and submission fee. Please include press kits, publicity photographs, critical reviews, biographies of the director, and any other material relevant to the work in submission package. All submissions will be retained by the Patois Film Festival for pre-selection and archival purposes. Final preferred exhibition formats are DV cam and Mini DV.
